This page explains what information ShoppingListr keeps about you, why, and what you can do about it. It covers this website and the app at app.shoppinglistr.com. Using the app is also covered by our Terms.
Who we are
ShoppingListr is run by Fuzza Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17490817), whose registered office is at 167–169 Great Portland Street, 5th Floor, London, W1W 5PF.
Fuzza Ltd is the data controller for your information under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). You can contact us about anything on this page at info [at] shoppinglistr.com.
What we keep and why
We keep the information you give us, so we can provide ShoppingListr and improve it. Our legal basis is that we need it to provide the service you've signed up for, and our legitimate interest in making ShoppingListr better.
We don't sell your information, we don't show ads, and we don't use it to build a profile of you.
Emails we send
We only send emails that come from something you, or someone in your household, did in ShoppingListr:
- confirming your email address when you create an account;
- a sign-in code, when you ask to sign in with one;
- a link to reset your password, when you ask for one;
- confirming a new email address, when you change it.
We may also email you about significant changes to these pages or to ShoppingListr. We don't send marketing or newsletters. If we ever want to, we'll only do so with your permission, and you'll be able to stop them at any time. Because these emails are needed to run your account, the only way to stop them is to close your account.
Who else handles it
We use trusted third-party service providers to deliver ShoppingListr. They process information only on our instructions, and we don't let them use it for their own purposes. Some of them are based in, or process information in, other countries, including the United States. When your information leaves the UK, it is protected either because the UK has recognised that country's protection as adequate (for the United States, through the UK–US data bridge) or by the UK's standard data protection clauses in our contract with that provider.
To provide smart features, such as filling in a recipe for you, we share the text and photos you add with a third-party AI service. We only use AI providers that don't keep what we send or train on it.
When you sign in, create an account or ask for an email from the sign-in screen, a security check confirms that you're a person and not an automated program. To do that, it looks at technical information from your browser, such as your IP address and browser details. That information is used only for the check, not for advertising, and the check doesn't set tracking cookies.
Feedback
When you send us feedback from the app, we receive your rating, anything you write, and the app version and browser you're using. We use it to improve ShoppingListr, and we may quote what you write on our website and in our marketing. We won't put your name to a quote without asking you first.
Using ShoppingListr with a voice assistant
If you link a voice assistant to your account, the company that runs it sends us the words it recognised for the item you asked to add — for example "two litres of milk" — and we add it to your household's shopping list, just as if you'd typed it. We don't receive your voice recordings; that company handles those under its own privacy notice. The voice assistant keeps a sign-in for your account so it can do this. You can unlink it at any time from the voice assistant's own app or settings, and we'll stop receiving anything from it.
Cookies and statistics
This website doesn't use tracking or advertising cookies, so there's no cookie banner. We collect anonymous, aggregate visit statistics that don't identify you. The app stores what it needs on your device to keep you signed in and to work offline; this is essential to how it works.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and your household's content for as long as you use ShoppingListr. If you ask us to delete your account, we'll remove your personal information within 30 days. Content shared with your household, such as recipes, stays available to the other members of that household.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the information we hold about you;
- correct anything that's wrong;
- delete your account and personal information;
- restrict or object to how we use it.
Email info [at] shoppinglistr.com and we'll reply within one month.
If you want to complain about how we've handled your information, please email us first. We'll confirm we've received your complaint within 30 days, look into it, and tell you what we found and what we're doing about it. If you're still unhappy, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
ShoppingListr accounts are for adults aged 18 or over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger.
Changes to this page
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll let you know by email.
